Ecclesiastes 3:11-13

I created this for a friend who shared the CEV-UK translation of the “A Time for Everything” chapter of Ecclesiastes:

Ecclesiastes 3:11-13

God makes everything happen at the right time.

I really like the way this version reads; much easier to understand than the somewhat confusing [albeit familiar] King James Version:

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

This chapter of Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is much we don’t understand about life’s ebb and flow, but we can rest in the knowledge that God is in control, having questions is a normal response to that ebb and flow, and he wants us to enjoy life and take joy in the little everyday things.

What is the CEV-UK version, you ask? I wondered the same thing and learned that it’s the Century English Version (UK/British edition).  Ace!
