Meet Me at Rainbow Bridge

A week ago today, our beloved Tinkerbelle had to leave this earth and our embrace, and head toward heaven to wait at Rainbow Bridge. I miss her terribly but I know God’s taking care of her and she’ll be waiting for our reunion, just as I am.  It has taken me a week to be able to look at pictures of my sweet puppy dog without sobbing incontrollably – I’m just barely able to see the screen as I type this – but I wanted to put together a collage to share, if only with myself.

I’d also like to share this beautiful poem that gives great comfort to those who’ve lost a beloved pet; I fully believe that Tink is there, along with our other pets Omar, Muffin, Edith Ann, LuluBelle and Minnie Kitty, waiting for our arrival so that we can all cross over into heaven together.

The Rainbow Bridge

inspired by a Norse legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

  3. Hey! Someone in my Myspace group shared this website with us so I came to take a
look. I’m definitely enjoying the information. I’m book-marking and will
be tweeting this to my followers! Terrific blog
    and excellent design and style.

  4. Hmm it looks like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what
I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger
but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have
any tips for inexperienced blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

    • I know it sounds simple, but the best advice I received, I will share with you: write from your heart. 🙂 Oh – and check your spelling and grammar before posting! Good luck to you, Stephaine.
